Custom Lazer Dress for Mirah

I had the pleasure of hanging out and performing with Mirah while touring in LA with the Secret Drum Band. She asked if I could make her a few pieces to bring to Paris where she will be performing with a bus load of other Portland based musicians for the Keep Portland Weird festival. Here’s one of the pieces I made for her, it’s the Lazer dress in charcoal grey sweatshirt fleece, lined in black hemp jersey.

This is the SECRET DRUM BAND!

The SDB is a seven person drum, percussion and experimental sound project written and directed by Lisa Schonberg. Some of these photos were taken during our rehearsals at the ROCK AND ROLL CAMP FOR GIRLS here in Portland Oregon. Lisa, STS and Marisa all work there, inspiring girls to play music while building self esteem. The live show photos were taken during our performance at HOLOCENE. I designed and sewed all of the costumes as well as play drums in the piece. It was exciting getting to create outfits that went along with the music and fit with the personalities of the players. The SDB just got back from a week long tour in LA during which we got to hang out with artist Andrea Zittel in Joshua Tree. Hope to go back soon!

PAINTED HILLS

The super talented photographer Corey Arnold and I took a trip to the Painted Hills and Blue Basin in Central Oregon a few weeks ago to do an impromptu photoshoot of me sporting some looks from the new HT collection. Amazing how the colors of the clothing and the dramatic landscapes worked together.
