The Printed Swim Collection

My niece Jordie splashing around in the Lakeview Tots Swimsuit

Some backstory on how the printed swimwear came to be, on a site that is dedicated to locally made clothing.

In the Summer of 2023 Warm Shape and I did a collab. on Instagram together. We both offered items up in a raffle. Linus was raffling off a printed swimsuit from her Netscape Navigator collection, and I offered up a hand made mesh tank top. We asked folks to sign up on our newsletters and tag 2 friends on our IG post and entered everyone’s name into a raffle. It was pretty successful and fun! We expanded our reach a bit and a rad farmer named Molly up in Washington state ended up winning the raffle.

Through that collaboration with Warm Shape I learned about the world of printing your own artwork onto existing garments, also called blanks - there are companies out there with the capacity to cut sew, print and ship. At the time of our collaboration, I didn’t have any children’s swimwear up for sale and thought it could be cool to offer a small Kids collection, since I was already making adult sets by hand. The first project was a baby swimsuits printed with a photo that my sister in law Dorit took of Snag Lake here in Oregon. Snag Lake is a small fishing spot with fallen logs at the mouth of the lake (hence, snagging the fishing line) that is surrounded by trees…a perfect image to use as a print on a swimsuit. I named this print the Lakeview. I now have expanded my printed offerings and am working with PNW print designers: Zoe Linn Anderson and Holly Degen. They have made some beautiful prints for the kids line as well as some for the adults as well.

I thank the hands that did make these adorable pieces <3.
